Description The story behind the build
This machine evolved from a previous X99 build after his motherboard apparently glitched and took out his CPU.
At this point, he decided to upgrade to Intel’s X299 since most of his work utilizes only a few cores at a time.
He debated whether he should go for an i9-7900X with 10 cores and a lower clock speed, or save a little with an 8-core i7-7820X that was pre-binned and decided to help with thermals.
He decided to go with the 7820X because It can run all cores at 4.8Ghz and when paired with the EKWB monoblock it keeps the chip and the VRMs cool all day long.
The only issue was he had to reverse the flow of his loop to accommodate the CPU monoblock, but he took care of that with new fittings underneath the PSU shroud.
On his previous x99 build, he had incorporated purple as an accent color with custom cables and mood lighting, but this time around he decided to try out Primochill’s Transparent UV purple and is loving it.
